Candidate Terms

Version 2026-10-02 · Effective 2 October 2026

In short: FloExchanges is free for you. We help you find seasonal work at summer camps and ski resorts and introduce you to employers. The camp or resort that hires you is your employer, not us. Please be honest with us and with them, and tell us if your plans change.

1. Who we are

1.1FloExchanges is run by FloExchanges Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17492617), whose registered office is at 8 Roby Street, St. Helens, Merseyside, WA10 3JE, United Kingdom ("FloExchanges", "we", "us"). You can contact us at explore@floexchanges.com.

1.2We act as an employment agency: we introduce you to camps and resorts (Employers) who may offer you a job. We do not employ you, and any job you accept will be directly with the Employer.

2. Our service is free

2.1We will never charge you a fee for finding you work or introducing you to Employers. Employers pay us when they hire someone.

2.2Some things may cost you money, but you pay them to someone else, not to FloExchanges. Examples are travel to the job, or visa sponsor and government visa fees if you are an international candidate (see section 8). We will always tell you about these in advance.

3. What we will do

3.1Review your profile, talk to you about the kind of work you are looking for, and suggest roles that match your skills, experience and availability.

3.2With your agreement, introduce you to Employers with suitable roles, and help arrange interviews.

3.3Before you accept any job, make sure you know the Employer, the role, the location, the dates and, as far as the Employer has told us, the pay, accommodation, meals and any known health and safety risks.

3.4Stay in touch and support you up to your start date.

3.5We will do our best to find you a role, but we cannot guarantee that you will be offered work. Hiring decisions are always the Employer's.

4. What we ask of you

4.1Be honest. Make sure the information in your profile is true and up to date, including your experience, certifications, availability and whether you can work in the United States. Tell us promptly if anything changes.

4.2Take part in screening. This includes a short screening call or interview, and giving us the contact details of at least two referees, who we may contact.

4.3Complete the Employer's checks. Most camps and resorts need a criminal background check and other pre-employment checks before you start, and you will need to cooperate with these. You are responsible for any costs of your own documents, such as your passport.

4.4Keep your word. If you accept a job, please honour it. If you need to pull out, tell the Employer and us as early as you can. Repeated no-shows may mean we cannot introduce you again.

4.5Video intro (optional). If you add a video intro, it must be of you, honest, and suitable for employers who work with children. Do not include other people (especially children) or anyone else's personal details. You can replace or remove it at any time, and we may remove a video that breaks these rules.

4.6Be respectful. Behave professionally with us and with Employers. We may stop working with anyone who gives false information or behaves in an abusive or unsafe way.

4.7You must be at least 18 years old to use FloExchanges.

5. Your job and your Employer

5.1If you accept a job, your employment terms (pay, hours, duties, accommodation, meals and dates) are between you and the Employer. The Employer should give you a written offer or contract before you start. Please read it carefully.

5.2Once you start work, the Employer is responsible for you as its employee, including your pay, safety and working conditions. If you have a problem at work, raise it with the Employer first. You are always welcome to tell us too, and we will help where we can.

6. Your information

6.1We use your information as described in our privacy policy at floexchanges.com/privacy. In particular, by using FloExchanges you agree that:

  1. Employers you are matched with can see your full profile, including your contact details, your video intro (if you add one), copies of certificates you upload, and a summary of your references (what your referees said, but not their contact details), so they can consider you for a role. You become matched when we match you, when an Employer asks to see you, or when you say you are interested in an Employer;
  2. other Employers who hire through FloExchanges can browse a summary of your profile (first name and last initial, the role you want, experience, skills, availability, work status, nationality, your "About me", your video intro if you add one, and your overall review rating), but never your contact details. You can switch this off at any time in your profile;
  3. if a FloExchanges partner referred you, they can see your name and how far you have got (for example "signed up" or "placed"), but not your contact details or the rest of your profile;
  4. if you need a visa, we will pass your details to a visa sponsor only with your agreement; and
  5. if you give us a referee's details, you have told them you are doing so. We will email them once to ask for a reference.

6.2You can ask us to stop contacting you, to correct your information or to delete your profile at any time by emailing basecamp@floexchanges.com.

7. Reviews

7.1After a season, the Employer may rate you, and you may rate the Employer: 1 to 5 stars, whether you would work together again, and an optional comment.

7.2Other Employers browsing FloExchanges can see your average star rating and, if an Employer would hire you again, a "Returning staff" badge. Candidates can see an Employer's average rating from former staff. Written comments are only seen by FloExchanges.

7.3Please keep reviews honest and fair. We may remove a review that is abusive, clearly false, or includes personal information. If you think a review about you is unfair, email basecamp@floexchanges.com and we will look into it.

8. International candidates and visas

8.1If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (this includes Canadian citizens), you will normally need a visa, usually a J-1, to work at a U.S. camp or resort. Only U.S. Department of State designated sponsors can issue the J-1 paperwork.

8.2FloExchanges is not a visa sponsor. If you need a visa, we will introduce you to a designated sponsor we work with. That sponsor will have its own terms and fees, which you agree with it directly. We will tell you about the sponsor before you share any details with it.

8.3Never travel to work in the United States without the correct visa. We will not introduce you to an Employer for a start date that your visa situation cannot support.

9. Ending things

9.1You can stop using FloExchanges at any time by telling us or deleting your account. We can stop providing our service to you by telling you, for example if you break these terms.

9.2If you stop using FloExchanges after we have introduced you to an Employer, please still tell us if that Employer hires you within 12 months. This does not cost you anything.

10. Legal bits

10.1We will provide our service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the acts of Employers or visa sponsors, or for any job offer being withdrawn. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that cannot be limited, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

10.2We may update these terms from time to time. If we make an important change, we will tell you by email before it applies to you.

10.3These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law of your home country or state gives you.

Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you tick the box in your FloExchanges account. We keep a record of the date and version you accepted. If we make an important change, we'll ask you to accept the new version.
